Disclosures and Review Policy

🌟 Time to open the review calendar once more! You guys kept me busy which is great! If you would like to get on my calendar make sure you email me! I have a few spaces forMay and only taking a two or three for June or July as those tend to be busy family month. I can also schedule for August and the rest of the year. I am taking less reviews this year as I don't want to overwhelm myself with our busy family schedule!  Email at: sassybookishmama@gmail.com

Review Requests:

We have a wide variety of ages in our household and are able to cover a wide spectrum of books or items for review.

I accept books from the following genres:
  • Christian Fiction (all genres)
  • YA Christian Fiction
  • Sweet/Clean Romances (no sex outside of marriage and not explicit within)
  • Christian Homeschooling Curriculum
  • Christian Fiction and non-fiction for children
  • Homeschooling (self-help and non-fiction)
You are welcome to pitch your book as long as it fits one of the above categories.

I accept books in paperback (preferred), Kindle or PDF.

Depending on the amount of review requests I have within a month, I cannot guarantee that your book will make it to the top of my pile but I will give it a try depending on your time frame.

I will review every book I accept (but it may take me some time to do so especially with curriculum that would need to be used by my children). I post reviews on this blog, Amazon, Bookbub,  FacebookGoodreads and Instagram. I will also post on LibraryThing or other platform if requested. Pretty much wherever I see your book I will leave a review is possible!

All books received will become part of my home library as I cannot seem to throw any books away.

If you would like me to review your book or curriculum please send me an email at sassybookishmama@gmail.com. If I'm interested I will get back to you in a timely manner. Remember I am also a homeschooling mama so I can only review a handful of books offered each year.

Rating System:

If I like your book I will tell anyone that will listen or read why I do. Even if the book is not my favorite I will find something positive to say about it. Constructive Criticism goes a long way and it shows readers that the book may have its flaws. I know that authors work very hard in a book and just because I may not fully love a book doesn't mean that someone else will share my opinion. That being said in platforms such as Amazon and Goodreads where a star rating system is in place unless your book or curriculum did not jive with my beliefs the lowest rating you will receive is a 3 star with the highest obviously being a 5! My whole goal is to be as honest as possible in my reviews and here on this blog.

But when you see a star rating on the blog this is what they typically mean although I have been known to add extra comments to those ratings! 😊

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- Loved it!! It was amazing!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Really Liked it.
⭐⭐⭐- Liked it
⭐⭐- It was OK, just not for me.
⭐ - Did not like it.

Disclosure of Material Connection:

I often receive free books (whether e-galleys, ARCs, or paperbacks) from publishers, authors, and publicity groups in exchange for only my honest review. I am not required to write a positive review, nor any review for that matter. The opinions I express are always my own. Reviews of books which I received free in anticipation of a review will be indicated as such at the end of that particular post. Otherwise, the book was part of my personal collection or borrowed from a library.

I am never paid for a review that appears on this site.

Musings of a Sassy Bookish Mama is an affiliate of Amazon.com and ChristianBook.com.  As such, my posts usually contain affiliate links.  When you click on those links and purchase the product offered, I receive a small percentage of that purchase, at no extra cost to you! While I will often use an affiliate link to indicate where to purchase the book in my review posts, I will never recommend that you purchase a book or product just because I get a percentage back. If I don’t think it’s a good book, I will be clear in my review. As always, you the reader are free to decide which books (if any) you purchase based on my reviews and from where you purchase them.

Any earnings from affiliate links are used to cover operational costs of this website as well as shipping costs for giveaways, etc. Other direct links that I use (Goodreads, publishers, authors, etc.) are not affiliate links and will generate no income for Musings of a Sassy Bookish Mama.

Due to FTC regulations, I post a disclosure similar to the following on all book reviews.

I received this book free from ***** Publishers as part of their Blogger Review Program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are all my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions's 16 CFR, Part 233: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and liking to Amazon.com. Any posts with affiliate links will be identified at the bottom of the post.

  1. Hi! I found you via this Drea theme from Etsy. I thought it would make a great review blog theme and so did you. Lol. I'm just getting back into reviewing and I'm not quite happy with the theme I have. It doesn't feel warm enough for me. It's nice to see other like-minded readers. Just give me a good story and forget all that other stuff.
