First Line Friday ~ The Governess

September 16, 2022

Happy Friday!!

It's been a long time since I have done a First Line Friday so I was surprised that the host had changed but I am so glad that is continuing! It is not hosted by Carrie over at Reading is my Super Power. For the longest time this used to be a big part of my week but of course life happens and you get super busy with all the things happening that I totally had forgotten to participate but I am hoping to remedy that and get back into the habit!

Today I am featuring indie author Kristie Self. I have read her previous two books in her Ladies of Roderick Glen series and have really enjoyed them. This one is equally as good! I have 4 more chapters to go and don't want it to end! Be on the lookout for my review on this book coming soon!

MY FIRST LINE:
(from the prologue)

"The young girl stood near the front window of her family's home, fear crawling up her spine as she kept a watchful eye on the scene
unfolding outdoors"

Your turn! Grab the book closest to you and drop the first line in the comments.

  1. Happy Friday!
I’m currently reading The Belle of Belgrave Square by Mimi Matthews.
“Julia sat immobile on the silk damask-cushioned bench in front of her carved walnut dressing table as her lady’s maid, Mary, put the final touches on her evening coiffure.”
I hope you have a great weekend!
