Happy Friday!!
It's been a long time since I have done a First Line Friday so I was surprised that the host had changed but I am so glad that is continuing! It is not hosted by Carrie over at Reading is my Super Power. For the longest time this used to be a big part of my week but of course life happens and you get super busy with all the things happening that I totally had forgotten to participate but I am hoping to remedy that and get back into the habit!
Today I am featuring indie author Kristie Self. I have read her previous two books in her Ladies of Roderick Glen series and have really enjoyed them. This one is equally as good! I have 4 more chapters to go and don't want it to end! Be on the lookout for my review on this book coming soon!
Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI’m currently reading The Belle of Belgrave Square by Mimi Matthews.
“Julia sat immobile on the silk damask-cushioned bench in front of her carved walnut dressing table as her lady’s maid, Mary, put the final touches on her evening coiffure.”
I hope you have a great weekend!
Great opener! I'm so curious about what's going on outside. Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThat first line is enough to pull a reader in. Hope you have fun finishing the book.
ReplyDeleteMy first line comes from Chapter 1 of A Gem of Truth by KimberleyWoodhouse :

I have not read her before. I like the cover and the opening sentence sounds good. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! This sounds like a good book. I'm currently reading Dangerous Beauty by Melissa Koslin and the first line is: "She ran." -- Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
