Release Date: October 12, 2021
Rory Perez, a food truck owner who can't cook, is struggling to keep the business she inherited from her aunt out of the red--and an upcoming contest during Modest's annual food truck festival seems the best way to do it. The prize money could finally give her a solid financial footing and keep her cousin with special needs paid up at her beloved assisted living home. Then maybe Rory will have enough time to meet the man she's been talking to via an anonymous online dating site.
Jude Strong is tired of being a puppet at his manipulative father's law firm, and the food truck festival seems like the perfect opportunity to dive into his passion for cooking and finally call his life his own. But if he loses the contest, he's back at the law firm for good. Failure is not an option.
Complications arise when Rory's chef gets mono and she realizes she has to cook after all. Then Jude discovers that his stiffest competition is the same woman he's been falling for online the past month.
Will these unlikely chefs sacrifice it all for the sake of love? Or will there only ever be tacos for one?

My Thoughts
Betsy St. Amant had me hooked from the first page with all the You've Got Mail references. If you have ever met me you will know that You've Got Mail is my absolutely favorite movie so I really enjoy when authors reference the movie or their story is very similar to the movie storyline which this one definitely had its similarities. In this story we meet some great characters in Rory and Jude. They are having an online romance a la You've Got Mail which was absolutely my favorite.
In the course of this story we meet some of Rory's family which I simply loved and we also meet Jude's family which you will definitely dislike. They are definitely two opposite sides of the coin when it comes to their families. I must admit that Rory did drive me a little crazy with her uncertainties in her life and lack of self confidence. I understood that a lot of stemmed from her relationship with her father but still I felt like it dragged on a bit and she just couldn't get out of her own way. I did however enjoyed Jude following after what he really wanted out of life and putting his family in place so to speak.
This story was enjoyable and comical in its own way. Betsy St. Amant definitely knows how to entertain you with a story. The only fault I found with this one was that although its is a Christian book there was a huge lack of Christian content and it was sad to see that because there were so many great opportunities to incorporate God's message throughout this story. That being said it was enjoyable and I would describe it as a clean romantic comedy.
Overall I thought this was a fun read and I definitely recommend it but make sure you have the fixings for tacos or a taco place nearby as you will get a craving for tacos as you are reading this book!
My Rating: 4 Stars/Really enjoyed it!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
